Tests
Variations of colour ink, tested on screen before pushing through the screen.
Offsetting the top layer of the type gives depth to the information, definitely a key factor of a successful 2 colour print. I have decided to fill in the counters of the type to make the colour layer pop.
Grey stock will not allow the information to be legible in anyway other than using fluro inks, which is now something I want to have in this piece.
Having a cream stock with light blue ink will work very well and add a touch of warmth that the venue you gives from the cold of the bands lyrics and of course, the time of year. Having memories related to gig posters is something that has always stood out beyond any aesthetic and this is something I am beginning to explore more.
After a crit with peers it was Suzanne's advice of taking the tree trunks out of the blue foliage layer that really made the print come together.
Having some of the rain overlay in blue will also add depth to the rain part of the poster, which dominates the frame.
2 separation prints ready to go
