Brief 1: Conrete Matter research

The following website sparked an idea for a simplistic website with the addition of some high quality photography of the ingredients that make beer. Capturing the creativity of the proccess of making beer and relating it the the creativity of producing graphics.

*Updated 23/01/14: This brief has been altered into the Badger Creek Brewery brief, explanatory brief here*

 Concrete Matter

Laying out the ingredients in the following format will look aesthetically pleasing and fit with current trends in the food industry, as pioneered locally by Food& and internationally by Cereal Magazine

Pinterest for search for "Ingredients"

At this point in the ideas stage I feel that photography is the best placeholder until briefs arrive in the inbox. Because I need to generate confidence in clients without any design work, the website must itself be of high standard, but the photography can grab the attention of clients in a much clearer way.

If a client sees that I have a keen eye for detail and an understanding of the brewing process, I will be able to advertise my services effectively until I get a few briefs under my belt.

This photography of ingredients would work in a similar way for beer as they do for a food recipee.

Cereal

Cereal Magazine, based in USA, photograph their houseware products and magazines in a way that oozes quality and allows the items to speak for themselves with minimal description. The bottles of beer and packaging that I produce would have to be strong enough that they can be photographed in a standardised way across the website.
