In order to understand how the high end packaging will look, it is essential to see existing high end packaging in context. A trip to the 4th floor at Harvey Nichols was ideal, it helped me to get the feel and textures, print finishes and how they stand out from each other on the shelves.
There is not much chilled packaging other than drinks, however the use of paper stock and foiling seemed to be the only way in which a luxury aesthetic was added to each product.
Typography is a key deliverable in the design for the prestigious and luxury market, thin weight sans serif and heavy weight serif fonts were the chosen type styles.
Within the sweet isle there is an abundance of cleveryly designed pieces of packaging, this chocolate piece sums up the entire isle.
Within every type of food, clarity is the main way of grabbing peoples attention, the use of glass or clear plastic materials allows the consumer to see what they will be eating before buying it.
