Brief 9: Live Brief - Brass Castle secondary research

Secondary Research

"The brewhouse is around 6 miles from PocklingtonUntil recently it only provided beer to the Estate itself. Few folks are therefore able to enjoy ales created in this very traditional copper equipment. The brewlength is 4bbl and there will be some fun ahead as we fit recipes to the kit. Whatever we come up with, the beers will be truly unique!"

Brass Castle Brewery take great pride in being from Pocklington, their recent expansion is taking them outside of this town. By taking a traditional english aesthetic I aim to keep their aesthetics linked to the town wherever they end up brewing in the future.

I have been looking towards a traditional market feel with inspiration from old hand painted signs. My recent work for the COP module has shown me that ultimately consumers want to know exactly what is in the bottle. Signs need to communicate information with clarity, the foloowing images have led me to an aesthetic which is stripped back and takes the layout directly from the original hand painted shop signs of Pocklington.
