Development
The process for this poster has been a hands on approach, by using hand rendered type and sketching a tiled system on the page I was able to use photoshop to inverse areas, creating a negative space for ultimate impact on the page.

I decided after all of the colour mock ups that it would be a good idea to print onto both sides of a single A3 sheet of low quality stock. The stock becomes the aesthetic of the band and allows the hand rendered type to hark back to the 90's era in which both bands formed.
Alongside the double sided print, I will produce two separate single sided posters, again on a low quality stock.
These two gig posters for the Less than Jake vs. Reel Big Fish gig allowed me to explore the use of photocopy printing and Low Fi graphics for a gig. I felt that the best approach for this one off gig in Leeds was that of old punk style of greyscale photocopy on a coloured stock. Both bands have a rough low-fi approach to their bands image which is a reflection of their music. By looking into the history of both bands and how they began their careers I found that low budget paste up posters were evident across a number of venues. I feel that these two new posters that I created are a true reflection of this image but for a modern day audience.
