Brief 2: Daughter Screen Print

Planning the colour separations for the print, it was suggested that I should have the stock colour as the bones, so I will remove these from the texture below to create the effect of 3 colours by using just 2.

The texture for the Red layer has worked out great by simply using some rough brushes and erasers in Photoshop.

Moving the bones around in Photoshop has been crucial as the illustration didn't work out as planed, I left a few gaps on purpose however after crits and personal reflection, I though it best to have an even distribution across the print.

I have kerned the D and pretty much every letter in Photoshop to neaten up the type I created by hand.

on screen test of how is should look, a true depiction can't be seen but at least I know the colours work ok without the stock showing as the bones.

Paper ready to go with registration marks, also I have added a future date for the gig on the poster with the hopes of being able to sell some unofficial posters along side the actual venue posters. Daughter have said in a press release that this tour will have venue specific screen prints of limited runs of 60, as well as a generic tour poster of unlimited copies. It would be great to have mine featured.

I picked a date in the future that gives me enough time to print and photograph the poster and have them make a decision.

Finished piece

Definitely need to re-print onto an ivory stock and make sure the screen is flooded correctly, I think I put too much ink down the first few times I printed.
