Breif 2: Letterpress forms

I went to Vernon Street print room to look and use the Letterpress letters for the poster which will ultimately be screen printed. I took images of letters in order to put into photoshop and create the letters of the poster, a few of the images are here. It was really worth seeing and handling the letter forms as I got the sense of weight which helped give me the idea of impact on the posters.

Rather than having lots of letters on the page making a pattern of the letters in OWEN, I decided to use large blown up renderings of just four letters.

I expanded my proffesional practice further by using woodblock type for artwork which was eventually screen printed. I scanned the letters, photoshoped them and created the layout. By handling the letter forms I got a sense of proportion which helped give me the idea of impact on the posters.
