A use of the rule of thirds is used here, although I dislike the type on this poster, I appreciate the use of two colours and stock to add depth. As this is my first screen print this year, I would like to start with a two colour print. I will need to look at using the stock to generate the third colour.
The following two posters have led me to look at how screen print imagery is framed by white space. This allows for a focal point and the ability to have the original work framed. The Daughter print could make use of having artwork stagger and creep into a white space border around the edge of the stock.
Having the venue details at the base of the poster draws the eye from the imagery, both are balanced equally even though the image dominates the page. In posters where the typed information is at the top of the poster, or through the middle, the eye tends to see the illustration work after they read the type.
